My work grows out of an ongoing interest in how images and pop culture shape the way we see and understand ourselves. Using portraiture and figuration, I explore identity not as something fixed or stable, but as something more fragile, chaotic, and continually reconstructed through the images and media that surround us.

In my recent paintings, I pull imagery from movies, television, internet culture and other familiar sources, fragmenting and reassembling figures into unexpected forms and heightened color. I’m interested in the tension between recognition and distortion—how something can feel familiar while also being strange or unsettled. Through these paintings, I think about how much of our sense of self is shaped by what we watch, remember, absorb, and repeat. The figures become a way to explore the sometimes messy relationship between identity, memory, and the constant stream of images we encounter every day.
